Magnet Promotional Calendars and Business - A Great Combination

The magnetic calendar has become one of the fastest growing promotional products around. The reason? It is because they are effective. Other types of promotional products exist, but they don't have the impact that calendars have. Promotional pens have limited space for printing, so at best you get your business name and phone number on it. Even then, a pen spends most of its life in a drawer or pocket (or in a plastic up if you're at my house) and no one sees it.

Besides the pen, there are promotional calculators. They suffer from the same viewer limitations as pens, and they are more expensive. How about plastic cups? They have a bit more "real estate" for your information, but they aren't seen much more than pens or calculators...even if they are sitting on my desk next to my calculator and are full of promotional pens. The only people who see my desk are my kids when they are using my computer to play some goofy on-line game that infects my system with spyware. But that topic is for a different topic.

My Point Is...

Magnetic calendars provide the most exposure for the money. That's the entire idea behind a promotional product, right? Its purpose is to get the most people to see your business information. A magnetic calendar is generally put in a prominent spot in the home or workplace. It's very nature (being magnetic) makes people stick them on refrigerators at home, on cabinets in the break room at work, on computer cases in the office, on toolboxes, cash registers, metal lamp posts on the corner, on automobiles, and lockers at school or work. Those are all places that are frequented by lots of people. Each one of which is a potential customer. They provide thousands of viewings a month.

Inexpensive.

Did I mention that they are inexpensive? You can get magnetic promotional calendars for less than 30 cents each. Compare that to the thousands of dollars a month required for a radio or television ad campaign. The print media is losing subscribers every month, so why would you consider using a relatively expensive promotional plan that is slowly dying?

Why They Work

Peoples' minds work in funny ways. You can't always force someone to think the way you would like, but they can often be persuaded if you do it gently. Magnetic calendars do just that. Instead of being loud and obnoxious (Billy Mays commercials come to mind,) they are subtle...almost subliminal. Each time someone sees it at the office they don't stop and read every word, but they know it is there. They glance at it. They look at the picture of you or your building. Little by little they become familiar with you and your business. When that person eventually needs a product or service you provide, they are going to think of you instead of going to the Yellow Pages. It is simply the way our minds work.
